In a quiet residential area of Cairns, a property owner works away much of the time and upon their return doesn’t want to be interrupted unnecessarily. AMM Security Solutions designed a simple but effective Video Intercom system to suit this clients needs and installed it during building construction and fit out. With an electronic lock at the property gate and colour camera mounted on the adjacent wall, all visitors must present themselves in order to receive access to the property. The property boundary is completely sealed with this gate the only way in or out.

Inside the house, our client can acknowledge a visitor by pressing the speak button on either one of his two wall mounted monitors, or he can ignore the approach. The video is patched through directly to the monitor but communication is only made upon pressing the button otherwise the visitor receives no response and goes away. Should the guest be welcome, pressing the lock release button allows the gate to unlock and the visitor enters the property. The gate locks behind them.

This solution offers a less intrusive way to see who is visiting your property and allowing one to give access only to those one wants to. Further more, it offers a security measure for night time when you really don’t want to be opening the door to strangers in the dark or when home alone.
